Humans continually push the limits in sport to be faster, higher, stronger. Understanding how the body (and cells) respond to different signal has become an important research topic in both human performance and medical fields. Recently we ran a VCE Biology Study session that explored these issues.

Twenty six students from schools around Geelong had the pleasure of delving into the Science of Athlete Performance with Geelong Football players Harry Taylor and George Horlin-Smith and Sport Scientist Jacquie Tran.

BioLAB STEM Teachers Network

We are planning a bumper 2017! BioLAB will be working with a range of organisations and partner schools to host both primary and secondary STEM Teachers Networks focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the Geelong region. There will be professional development opportunities focusing on digital technologies and STEM and also themed professional learning looking at the use of wearable technology in the classroom.
