Our Term 1 outreach tour has seen us hitting the road to visit the Gippsland area.

The grade 5 and 6 students at Cowes Primary School worked up a sweat during the Beat That Outreach sessions. They took part in science experiments to collect data about the way their heart responds to exercise.

The BioLAB team also visited Wonthaggi Secondary College where the VCE PE students took part in the Sports Science Experience program. Students took part in conducting and analysing a gold standard VO2 Max test using the latest Metamax portable VO2 Max Wearable Vest. They also took part in a ball game while wearing GPS tracking devices. Speed, distance and heart rate data was then analysed using similar methods to sport scientists from the AFL and elite sporting bodies around Australia.

It was great to be back on the road to this beautiful part of the world and we look forward to visiting the Phillip Island and Wonthaggi regions again next year.
