Students from around the Geelong region  had the opportunity to use scientific equipment to characterise proteins involved in the growth hormone response of cells. Students then used these findings to determine the cellular signal transduction pathway that takes place after a muscle cell has received the growth hormone message. This study session looked at reinforcing and revising the following VCE Biology focus areas:

  • Cellular Signalling (Unit 3, AOS 2)
  • Gene Structure and Regulation (Unit 3, AOS 1)
  • Practical Investigation (Unit 4, AOS 3)
  • DNA Manipulation Techniques (Unit 4, AOS 2)
