Eye in the Sky is a wonderful introduction to the wonders of science and mathematics. It uses the latest in technology to engage and inspire students in the various career pathways and applications of science and maths research.

VCE students at Cobden Technical College each had the opportunity generate their own data sets by using the GPSports Athlete tracking devices to monitor, speed, heart rate, distance and force during a game of netball. They also used iPads to track skills frequency throughout the match. This information was then used to analyse athlete performance, biomechanics, and motor skills during the game and gain a greater understanding of the many applications of this technology in the sporting and wider community.

Eye in the Sky will become a showcase outreach program at BioLAB and we look forward to offering this to many rural schools throughout 2013.
