BioLAB was officially launched on November 30th, 2011 by Minister of Education,  Martin Dixon. In 2012, its first year of operation, BioLAB has delivered inhouse and outreach programs to approximately 5000 school students (primary and secondary) and has welcomed close to 5000 teachers, parent, community members through its doors of professional development, community education events, meetings, and conferences.

BioLAB’s Director, Yvonne Van Der Ploeg reflected on the achievements of 2012, “Its been a wonderfully busy year of new programs and innovative technologies at BioLAB” says Yvonne. “We have really seen BioLAB develop its own personality and unique brand of educational fun this year, our staff team have done an amazing job and this is reflected in the positive feedback from the schools that have  been working with BioLAB this year and a steady stream of bookings already made for next year.”

With planning and bookings already starting for 2013, BioLAB will be looking forward to building on its success in 2012 with exciting developments such as our new partnership with the Geelong Football Club and further involvement with Deakin University and its new sports themed courses in engineering, materials technology and exercise and sports science at Waurn Ponds.
