Brain Matters explores the anatomy and function of the human brain. They explore and answer questions, manipulate materials, and test ideas.

Students apply their knowledge to functionally test different parts of the brain, including reaction time, balance, psychology and the effect of physical activity.

The program is designed to develop student’s understanding of brain function and health, and the importance of caring for your brain across a lifetime.

Students will complete three experiments throughout the program:

  • Balance.
  • Reaction time.
  • Brain Function and exercise.

Learning intention:

To understand how technology can be used to test the human brain.

Success criteria:

  • Describe how your nervous system responds to exercise.
  • Construct a column graph to display data.
  • Use decimals to record primary data.
  • Identify an experimental variable in an experiment.
  • Construct a column graph to display data.
