The Human Machine (7-9)

Secondary ProgramsOnsite

The human body is not just what we see from the outside. The chemicals, cells, organs & systems within our body are constantly working together, allowing the human body to function.

When beginning exercise, the body needs to adapt on a number of physiological levels to accommodate the oxygen requirements of activity. The cardiovascular and respiratory systems need to respond to the increased demand of oxygen and energy requirements.

This program utilises leading edge technologies such as ergometers, physiological sensors and iPads in our Deakin Human Performance Laboratory to explore the acute responses to exercise and the science of human performance.
