Did you know that Paper Plane throwing is a sport?

Even the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has played a part in helping Australian athletes perform at the Paper Plane World Championships.

The simple art of turning a piece of paper into a paper plane is loaded with links to science, technology, engineering and maths. Students will be introduced to the principles of flight and conduct an investigation into the engineering and design of paper planes. They will utilise their skills in mathematics and science to test their paper plane performance.

This program is complimented by a comprehensive teacher resource which can form a STEM unit within your classroom.
